Data Protection is an issue the Swindon Food Collective takes very seriously. Beyond compliance, we aim to observe best practice to protect and reassure our various contacts and clients. In short, we commit to procedures that protect sensitive data at all times with password encrypted systems, secure record-keeping, and files that are regularly reviewed, updated and, if necessary, deleted.
When collecting your food you will be asked to some information about yourself, your household and reasons for referral etc. We never divulge your personal information to anyone outside of the food bank unless we talk to your referring agency about your referral or additional support that may help you. We only use postcodes, numbers of people being fed and reasons for referral etc., for funding requirements and this data is kept for statistical out-turn reasons and is never linked to your name. All personal information e.g. your name is automatically removed from our systems after 6 months.
