Struggling to pay your energy bill?

If you’re worried about your energy bills, speak to your supplier as soon as you can – they have to work with you to come up with a payment plan that you can afford.

Many energy companies offer schemes or grants to help with home heating and energy costs. For example, by making your home more energy-efficient or offering free boiler checks and upgrades.

You can ask for:

➡️ a review of your payments and debt repayments

➡️ payment breaks or reductions

➡️ more time to pay

➡️ access to hardship funds

➡️ advice on how to use less energy

➡️ Priority Service registration – a free support service if you’re in a vulnerable situation

You don’t have to be a customer to join some of these schemes: Grants and benefits to help you pay your energy bills

Contact Citizens Advice Swindon for help before applying for a grant on 0808 278 7813 (10am to 4pm, Monday to Friday) or via their online enquiry form: Contact Us – Swindon Citizens Advice
