Swindon Food Collective joins BBC One - The One Show to mark 25 years since the first UK food bank opened

At Swindon Food Collective, we continue to see a growing number of people turning to us for support as food poverty increases. Rising food prices, higher household bills, and the uncertainty of unemployment and redundancy mean that more individuals and families are finding it harder to make ends meet.

We were pleased to support the BBC's One Show mini documentary raising awareness of Food Banks being in the UK now 25 years. The program explores Salisbury Food Bank partnership with Citizens Advice and how the joint presence and co-location has helped to reduce food bank usage. 

Matt Jones CEO said: "Swindon Food Collective continues to innovate and explore new ways to help our service users at a time of crisis. More closer partnership working with Citizens Advice, and similar charities, forms a substantial part of plausible future strategic options, which we intend to develop and articulate fully in early 2026".
