Our warehouse teams remain small and working 4 days a week to keep up with demand and effective warehouse management of stock rotation. We are very thankful that we have also been supported by some external teams from different companies such as Amazon, Rotary, Nationwide, ESRC, Good Gym, Bellamy Wealth, Verelogic, Excalibur and personnel from the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, Larkhill.
All our teams have helped us sort the Harvest and Christmas donations, make up hampers, move stock from the warehouse to the external storage facility and quarter the stock so that it is used before the expiry dates.
These teams meet and greet the public and give out vital food to those most in need. Each team member gives three hours of their own time offering a smile, sympathetic ear, signposting to other organisations, and offer tea and coffee where possible.
Our vehicle drivers are an essential cog in the wheel. Collections, Deliveries - moving food from A to B.
Could you help run a fundraising event? Events are a vital activity for Swindon Food Collective and without these, we would not be able to fund our increasing Operational Costs to run the Food Bank. We need your help and we need you now!! Everyone is welcome, those with or without experience and training is provided. If you volunteer, you can choose which events in the year you prefer and are available for.
We have events throughout the year, often at weekends, evenings, as well as bank holidays. Helping to collect food and donations at events is a vital activity which helps provide food to local people. Come and join us now... Please email: Event.Volunteers@swindonfoodcollective.org to sign up now. Basic DBS and access to transport would help, although you may also be able to drive our commercial vehicles too!
Can you use your transferable skills in our Charity? There are a range of IT, Marketing, Administration and related tasks always in need of attention.
